We feel the 2013 Vintage may be one of the finest from our Diamond Mountain Vineyard. A dry year with a mild consistent growing season gave us both elegance and concentration.
Why Do Bill & Dawnine Feel 2013 Was a Great Vintage?
2013 was the second year of a record draught in the Napa Valley. At the Dyer Vineyard on Diamond Mountain the total precipitation was just 6 inches. April and May, critical months for bloom and set were warm and dry. The summer was mild with temperatures in the 80s and 90s and only one period when heat spiked over 100 degrees. Perfect conditions in July, August, and September concluded with harvest on Sept 29.

Dyer Vineyard, located mid slope on Diamond Mountain, with its NW facing bench and rocky volcanic soils, thrives in conditions like this. 2013 Dyer Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon expresses black cherry and plum aromas laced thru with savory notes of tobacco and dried herbs. On the palate this is classic Cabernet – dense and chewy with notes of cedar.
