2004 Dyer Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 2004 Dyer Vineyard Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon remains in the same stylistic groove we have maintained since 1996- we favor a restrained, balanced style that reflects pride of place. The 04 harvest was one of the earliest since we planted the vineyard. An unusually warm spring pushed budbreak forward. Cool temperatures during bloom and a hot summer lead to a light crop and early harvest. Flavors are intense and fruit driven.
The blend is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. After 20 months in barrel, the wine was bottled in August 2006.
With one year of bottle age, the wine is open and accessible. The wine will age, but there is no need to wait. Our notes read: “black cherry, ripe berries and violets with hints of anise and cocoa. An elegantly structured wine; full bodied, supple ripe tannins and great length."

In a recent moment of serendipity...
