Our Wines
Cabernet Sauvignon From Napa Valley’s Famed Diamond Mountain District
Starting in 2013 we began to make a stand alone Cabernet Franc and found it to be so compelling that we have transitioned the vineyard to focus on Cabernet Franc. The last vintage of the Dyer Vineyard Cabernet blend is our 2021.
Going forward we will re-release older vintages of Cabernet Sauvingnon- we do have a fairly deep Library and love to share.
The winemaking is simple and classic. We thin and sort for even ripeness, use a combination of pump-over and punch-down to extract rich tannins, and use a basket press to gently separate the wine from the skins. The wine is aged in French oak for 22 months.
“Dyer Vineyard—This is the tiny, personal vineyard (and home) of two former winemakers, Dawnine Dyer (former head winemaker of Domaine Chandon) and Bill Dyer (formerly head winemaker of Sterling Vineyards). They own a scant four acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot on Diamond Mountain. Located in what might be called Diamond Mountain’s “golden enclave” where Diamond Creek, Von Strasser, Reverie, and Dyer are virtually cheek to cheek. Dyer delivers the real goods. Simply put, these are great Cabernets. They brim with the characteristic coca and blueberry scent of Diamond Mountain Cabernet/Merlot. Ditto for the soft, ripe tannins. Quantity is obviously minute; quality superb. If you can find it, get it”.

Dyer Wines’ 100% Cabernet Franc
With the 2022 vintage we made the decision to re focus in the vineyard to Cabernet Franc and it now takes the lead in our winemaking. 2022 Dyer Vineyard Cabernet Franc is our current vintage.
